Learning Substance Designer

As a Surfacing Artist I have heard a TON about Substance Designer and Painter. So I decided to take a 6 week CGMA course.

Weeks 1-4 have been Designer. The learning curve for this software was rough. It's so different from the other programs I've used, but also more powerful in alot of ways.

Here is my improvement thus far:

Week 2: Just height maps, trying to create patterns that look real.

Week 3: Started blocking in colors to go along with the height maps. I actually found this to be the most frustrating part of the process.

Week 4: Used Designer to create shaders and assign to chair geos.
